This May at Blackburn Empire Theatre, award winning theatre company The Outbound Project present 12 Million Volts, the story of the extraordinary Nikola Tesla.
Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.
According to Albert Einstein, Tesla was the world’s smartest man. But there are always at least three sides to every story: one person’s side, the other person’s side and the truth.
Expect holograms, pigeons with lasers coming out of their eyes and more lighting tricks than you ever thought would be able to fit into one show!
The Outbound Project promise to not only tell you the story of one of the world’s most exploited geniuses, but also to show you the many reasons why Tesla has been called a humanitarian legend; why Thomas Edison is ‘an overrated thief’; and why the American Dream had the potential to be so much more.
Winners of the Les Enfants Terribles Partnership Award in association with Greenwich Theatre, emerging graduate company with New Diorama Theatre and supported by Arts Council England.
