POLICE in Blackburn are appealing for information after a man was seen touching himself inappropriately in public.

At around 4:45pm on Thursday (7th July) an elderly lady had just arrived home at her flat on Swallow Drive, Blackburn when she saw a man at the bottom of the steps of the block of flats exposing himself and touching himself inappropriately.

She immediately let herself into her flat and called police.

The man has been described as white, between 40 – 50 years old, around five feet nine inches tall and of stocky build with a bald head. He was wearing a dark jacket and dark trousers.

PC Claire Cooper investigating said, “As this happened in the afternoon, there would have been a number of people in the area and so I would appeal to anyone who may have been around the Swallow Drive/Lark Hill area on Thursday afternoon to think back to try and remember if they saw anything at all suspicious at all that could help us with our enquiries.

“I would also appeal for anyone who may recognise the description of this man to come forward and contact police.”

Anyone with any information can contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
