Kids enjoy ‘One Great Day’ to start the summer at The Mall

Tobias, Daisy and Matilda Barton from Blackburn helped to raise money for two very deserving children’s charities by taking part in the One Great Day celebrations at The Mall Blackburn.

The shopping centre joined 200 venues across the UK to host the annual fundraising event in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital and other local charities.

The Mall’s Victoria Court was transformed into fun central with giant games, craft activities, eye-catching temporary tattoos and lots of goodies handed out to little shoppers.

The siblings, who came along with their mum, had a brilliant day and really enjoyed the super-sized games!

The Mall will be dividing the money raised between Great Ormond Street Hospital and the children’s support services at the East Lancashire Hospice.

The children’s mum, Sarah, said: “We certainly had One Great Day at The Mall Blackburn – all the kids really enjoyed themselves and came away with big smiles on their faces!”

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, added: “What a wonderful start to the summer holidays!

“We are delighted to be helping Great Ormond Street Hospital and the children’s support services at the East Lancashire Hospice.

“There’s much more free fun to come as the children look forward to plenty more time off school!”

One Great Day is a UK wide annual charity fundraising day, raising money and support for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and another local children’s charity close to the heart of each community.

It is a registered charity and was initiated by parents whose son received care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Established in 2014, it has raised over £500,000 for more than 110 different children’s health charities across the country.

Blackburn Life has been running as a voluntary venture to support the borough and its community. We are always happy to discuss advertising and promotional packages for businesses to help cover our costs of running Blackburn Life.

Blackburn Life will never charge you fees, levies or memberships to add your events, news, jobs and business listings.
