Coffee chain, easyCoffee, is set to continue its expansion across East Lancashire with a store at heart of Darwen within Darwen Leisure Centre.
Founded by easyJet tycoon Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyCoffee first launched in the UK in 2016 with two sites in London at Earls Court and Oxford Street.
easyCoffee opened stores in Blackburn and Burnley in 2017, with Blackburn’s being the first outside London.
easyCoffee’s Northern stores have been a runaway hit with locals since opening, and there are high hopes the same will come from the new Darwen café.
CEO Nathan Lowry said: “easyCoffee has been popping up all over London with shops in Covent Garden and Leicester Square and now in Blackburn, Burnley, Hastings, Edinburgh…. finally, we are landing in Darwen!
“We are just so chuffed to have found the right location with plenty of seating, free Wi-Fi, a kid’s play area and a friendly local team, and cannot wait to be a part of the neighbourhood!
“I am personally looking forward to meeting the locals and giving them a great product at a great price!”
Councillor Damian Talbot, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Leisure and Culture, said: “We are delighted to welcome easyCoffee to Darwen Leisure Centre. Their arrival will be great for the leisure centre and its members.
“easyCoffee already has a successful branch in Blackburn town centre and we are looking forward to welcoming them to not only the leisure centre, but the whole of Darwen.”
Work has already commenced and the café is expected to open in August.
