Blackburn’s newest charity shop is officially open – and it’s already turning heads.

The East Lancashire Hospice has unveiled its brand-new store on Crabtree Street, right next door to Tesco, and locals turned out in force for the grand opening on Thursday 5 September.

There was fizz, pastries, and plenty of warm welcomes as the Mayor of Blackburn joined Hospice at Home Supportive Care Co-ordinator Leah to cut the ribbon and celebrate the latest addition to the hospice’s growing family of shops.

The launch day saw shoppers browsing rails of quality pre-loved items, donating bags full of goods, and chatting with the brand-new team of volunteers, many of whom were doing their very first shifts.

💬 “Every purchase helps us provide care and support to local patients and their families,” said a hospice spokesperson. “We’re so grateful to everyone who has donated, shopped or stopped by to support the opening.”

And if you haven’t made it down yet – what are you waiting for?
