The Empire Social Club will run every Tuesday afternoon from 7th October, 2pm – 4pm, offering local people the chance to enjoy games, conversation and a friendly atmosphere at the heart of the theatre.

The club has been created as a way to help people beat isolation, meet new friends and share a laugh over tea, coffee and biscuits. Activities will include Scrabble, dominoes, cards, sudoku and more – but those who prefer a simple chat are just as welcome. Friends, family and the wider community are invited to join in, with a suggested £2 donation to support future volunteer and social events such as cinema trips and takeaway nights.
Special Events Already Planned
- Tuesday 14th October – Macmillan Coffee Afternoon
Visitors will be able to enjoy homemade cakes while raising money for a cause close to many hearts. Games and social activities will still take place alongside the fundraiser. - Tuesday 28th October – Half Term Beetle Drive Special
A family-friendly afternoon where adults can join in the classic dice game while children enjoy colouring and creative activities.
The Blackburn Empire Theatre hopes the club will bring warmth and connection to the community, especially as the colder months and darker evenings approach.
The first session of the Empire Social Club takes place on Tuesday 7th October, 2–4pm at the Blackburn Empire Theatre, and everyone is welcome to come along. No booking required.
