Taking to the stage the night before the world turns green for St Patrick’s Day, the band promise a lively celebration of Irish music packed with songs that audiences have loved for generations.
Featuring Sean Cannon, Paul Watchorn, Gerry O’Connor and Shay Kavanagh, the group continue the proud musical tradition of the legendary Irish folk band The Dubliners.
Audiences in Blackburn can expect a fantastic evening of classic singalong favourites including Whiskey in The Jar, Dirty Old Town, The Wild Rover, Seven Drunken Nights, The Rare Auld Times, Molly Malone, The Irish Rover and Black Velvet Band.
With more than 100 years of combined performing experience, the musicians have entertained audiences across Europe and beyond, bringing the unmistakable sound of Irish folk to a whole new generation of fans.
The band was formed following the passing of founding Dubliners member Barney McKenna in 2012 and the retirement of John Sheahan, marking the end of The Dubliners as a touring group. From that moment, The Dublin Legends took up the mantle, proudly continuing the music and spirit that made the original band famous worldwide.
Over the past decade they have toured extensively, performing in countries including Iceland, Norway, Sweden, France, Italy and Spain as well as across the UK and Ireland.
With St Patrick’s Day the following day, the Blackburn show promises the perfect chance to raise a glass, sing along to some of Ireland’s most famous songs and enjoy an unforgettable night of live folk music.
