Blackburn with Darwen residents are being asked to help shape future housing plans, with the council launching a survey on what types of homes are needed across the borough.

The research is intended to build evidence on the size and type of homes likely to be needed in the coming years, including properties for rent and for sale.
It will also look at the housing needs of older residents and people with additional or specialist requirements.
A selected sample of households has already been invited to complete the online survey, but the council says other residents who want to take part can also do so online.
Those filling it in are asked to choose the ward they live in when starting the questionnaire. Anyone unsure of their ward can check by entering their postcode on Blackburn with Darwen Council’s interactive electoral wards map.

The findings are expected to feed into future housing policies, strategies and initiatives in Blackburn with Darwen, with the aim of making sure future homes are designed to meet local needs.
