A landmark UK Flower Festival in June 2020 has announced details of its public opening times and special “early bird” pricing.
Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival will be open to the public from Thursday 18th June to Sunday 21st June 2020.
The event, which was last staged in 2016, is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the UK to marvel at the multitude of blooms which will fill Blackburn Cathedral with spectacular contemporary installations. With floral displays designed by the internationally renowned Craig Bullock as Artistic Director, assisted by Bill Dixon, and working with Flowers North West, the festival has the theme “Heaven and Earth”.
One of the organisers of the event, Karen Brooke, said:
“Since we announced that the Flower Festival is set to return, we have received so much positive feedback. Demand for tickets from groups and coach trips has already exceeded our expectations.
“We are expecting more visitors in 2020 and we have opened ticket sales this week to enable people to plan their visits to Blackburn to enjoy this landmark event for the town and the region.”
As well as the main attraction of the Festival, a range of fringe events, including flower demonstrations by floral architect Tom De Houwer and NAFAS demonstrators, a Jazz evening with Tipitina and celebration dinner, will be launched soon.
Organisers of the event are hoping that the Festival will bring an economic boost to the area as it welcomes thousands of visitors to Blackburn.
