The National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction Surveys are run every year, and Blackburn with Darwen is among 100 local authorities in England and Scotland taking part this time.
The survey has been running for 19 years and is billed as the biggest collaboration between local authorities, allowing councils to compare results, share best practice and look for ways to work together.
This year’s six surveys cover accessibility, walking and cycling, public transport, road safety, tackling congestion and highway maintenance.
Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Executive Member for Growth and Development and Deputy Leader for the council, said: “Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping how we improve our highways, and we want to make sure your views are reflected in the decisions we make.
“These surveys will help us understand exactly where residents feel improvements are most needed to support day-to-day travel around the borough.
“We’re keen to hear from as many people as possible.”
A minimum random sample of at least 3,300 Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council residents will be contacted by post, with up to two people in each household able to respond.
All residents can also take part online through the council’s website, and those who do so will remain anonymous.
The closing date for the surveys is Friday 28 August, with local and national results due to be published in late October 2026.
