Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Phil Riley has officially opened a new set of show homes in Darwen, as two housing developments prepare for their first completions next month.

Cllr Riley, along with staff from the council’s Growth Team, was invited by Linden Homes and Bovis Homes to the event at Collingwood Park and Cooper Fields, part of the Holden Fold development.

After touring the homes, he said: “We are committed to creating high-quality homes that meet the needs of our residents, while also supporting wider regeneration and economic growth.

“It’s about building places that people are proud to live in – with strong communities at their heart.

“We’ve made real progress in recent years, and schemes like this show our determination to keep that momentum going and deliver lasting, positive change for Blackburn with Darwen.

“We’re creating a more prosperous borough, and it does feel like Blackburn with Darwen is very much the place to be.”

The new show homes from Linden Homes at Cooper Fields are the first properties from the national brand in the area. Visitors can now view the two-bedroom Sweetpea, the four-bedroom Lavender and the four-bedroom Dahlia, all designed by Chapter 9 with first-time buyers in mind.

On Roman Road, Bovis Homes has opened three show homes at Collingwood Park. The development, which has already secured several reservations, is showcasing the three-bedroom Spruce and the four-bedroom Willow and Alder homes, designed by Abode Interiors to demonstrate spacious family living.

Gareth Roberts, Managing Director at Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West, said: “It was a real privilege to officially launch our new show homes at Collingwood Park and Cooper Fields with the Council.

“Civic support is always greatly appreciated as we continue to work together to bring much-needed homes to the area.

“In the following days, we were able to showcase our properties to buyers for the first time. We saw a great turnout, with many now confident in the quality, finish, and support provided by both Bovis and Linden.

“With the first completions expected next month, these communities are coming to life just in time for summer.”
