People in Blackburn with Darwen are being asked to have their say on how Lancashire manages waste over the next 10 years.

The Lancashire Waste Partnership has launched a survey as it updates its strategy for 2026-2036. The draft plan, called A low waste Lancashire, sets out the vision, objectives and proposed actions for how recycling and rubbish are collected, managed and disposed of across the county.

The partnership is made up of 15 local authorities, including Lancashire County Council, the 12 district councils and the two unitary councils, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool.

Residents are being urged to comment on the draft strategy, with the survey expected to take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Feedback will be used to shape the final waste strategy, which is due to be published later in 2026.

People can also read a summary of the draft strategy or the full draft before responding. The survey is open until Sunday 9 August.
