Young swimmers learn water safety skills during Drowning Prevention Week
Young swimmers in Blackburn have been learning how to stay safe in the water as part of Drowning Prevention Week.
Swimming lessons run by Blackburn with Darwen Council covered water safety, with beginners learning to fall in and float on their backs.
More advanced swimmers were taught how to tread water and swim in clothes to help keep themselves safe.
They also learned what to do if they see someone in trouble in the water and a lifeguard isn’t present.
