Inside Pleasington Cemetery’s refurbished Butterfly Garden

Blackburn Life

Blackburn with Darwen Council says Pleasington Cemetery’s newly refurbished Butterfly Garden now offers a peaceful space for people to remember loved ones and enjoy nature.

The garden includes a Letters to Heaven postbox, a baby memorial area known as the Secret Garden, new benches and sculptures, and features designed to support local wildlife.

The council says the visit was about the garden’s refurbishment and the importance of the community space, which it says welcomes everyone.

The work also forms part of the council’s Part of Your Story campaign, which it says supports residents throughout their lives, including when they experience the loss of someone close to them.

Residents are being encouraged to visit Pleasington Cemetery and see the Butterfly Garden for themselves.
