The Blackburn Empire Theatre has announced that its production of Dick Whittington and his Cat will go ahead this Christmas.
The audiences will be smaller, but the laughs, music and panto fun will all still be in plentiful supply.
The show by Pendle Productions, usually sees “Sold Out” performances every year and the theatre is expecting these shows to sell out very quickly.
The team of staff and volunteers have been working hard to introduce the safety measures needed, so we can still have some traditional panto fun in a safe way.
Michael Berry, Chairman of the Blackburn Empire, said: “It been such a challenging year for everyone and we are thrilled that we will still be able to bring some panto magic to families this Christmas.
“We have had to reduce the capacity of the theatre to around 30% of what we can normally hold, but we promise it will be 100% fun.”
Tickets go on sale on Friday 9th October 2020 at 10am and will only be available online through the theatre’s website blackburnempire.com – Tickets will not be available by phone or in person from the box office.
Anybody that has already booked tickets for the panto will be contacted in the coming week with extra details about their booking.
All audience members will be seated in individual household bubbles and all drinks orders also need to be placed online at the time of ordering your tickets.
Michael added: “We can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the theatre and we hope it will be the start of a great new future for us all.”
