A Blossoming Partnership for National Company with Local Roots

The HEADLINE sponsor for the Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival, which returns in 2020, has been announced.

Family company and nationally respected home furnishing specialists, Plumbs, will be the lead sponsor for the Festival which takes place from 17th to 21st June 2020.

Thousands of blooms will fill Blackburn Cathedral with spectacular contemporary installations. The stunning light and open architecture will provide an ideal environment to showcase beautiful and imaginative floral displays designed by the internationally renowned, Craig Bullock as Artistic Director, assisted by Bill Dixon and working with Flowers North West. The 2020 Festival has the theme “Heaven and Earth”.

Sarah Page, Managing Director at Plumbs said, “At Plumbs, we are proud of our Lancashire heritage, having started on a stall on Blackburn Market, and we are thrilled to be supporting the Flower Festival next year. The Festival coincides with our 60th anniversary and the Flower Festival will be a wonderful way to help us celebrate.

“The event is expected to attract thousands of people from across the UK and we are always keen to support events that highlight the best our county has to offer, particularly to people who may not have visited before.

“We are excited to work with the team at Blackburn Cathedral and will be announcing more news over the coming months.”

The Dean of Blackburn, The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones, said, “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Plumbs for the Flower Festival in 2020 and we are sure it will be a fabulous way to celebrate their 60th anniversary too.

“The family firm, which has such deep Lancashire roots right back to their market stall, which was just across the road from the Cathedral, are a local success story that is worth celebrating.”

Blackburn Cathedral Flower Festival takes place from 17th to 21st June 2020 and tickets are now on sale for the main festival and a range of fringe events including a major flower demonstration by the internationally renowned Tom de Houwer, a celebration preview dinner and “The Secret Garden” jazz evening.
