Charity single “Come Home For Christmas” produced in Blackburn Town Centre Studio

Actual Music are delighted to announce the release of a new Christmas song and music video – written, produced & performed by musicians representing Musique Agency, from across Lancashire and the North-West.

The song features lead vocalist Chris Scott, originally from Clitheroe. The release signals a return to releasing new music for Chris, with the Lancashire crooner being hailed by local press & radio since his debut release in 2011. More recently, Chris has been writing & recording vocals alongside numerous international music producers, with his songs featured on TV adverts, films and even fitness programmes across the world.

Chris’s sister Nadia Scott passed away earlier this year at the age of just 32, and the song has been produced in tribute to her. Nadia leaves behind her young daughter Maddison, and funds raised by the single are going to The Brain Tumour Charity, a charity funding much needed & urgent research into treatments for brain tumours and cancer.

“I’ve always wanted to release a Christmas song, I just never expected to do it in these circumstances. But in the end, the timing felt right. We loved the song, and it felt like the right moment to raise some money for a charity which is close to our hearts.” says Chris.

The track was performed remotely by musicians in their own homes due to the current government restrictions. Producer Jamie Turner says “we had two weeks to turn it round – from bringing the ideas together to the finished release. It’s been a fantastic group effort from our musicians, and it speaks a lot of the artist community – that our industry has been decimated, but we’re still willing to give and create something in the hope it puts a smile on people’s faces”

‘Come Home for Christmas’ is an original song by Musique pianist Paul Walker & and his wife Hilary Walker, about the yearning for a loved one to come back at this special time of the year. Paul was Jamie’s piano teacher during his time studying at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Paul says of the track, “the song is a good old time Christmas piano ballad, sleigh bells and all. I miss that festive feeling in a lot of modern Christmas tunes, so instead we just embraced it fully. I think the finished product is sentimental but optimistic. Humanity has had a really tough year in 2020, but now we look forward to a Christmas with those that are important to us, in the hope and knowledge that
the human connection we miss so dearly is coming back soon.”

Other artists featured in the track include Daniel Pye (Yarbo), John Witherspoon, Adee Lifshitz (Vintage Swing Thing), Ramena Farahi, & Phil Johari. Arrangements are by Grettel Killing & Arthur Phillips. Drums by Dave Ormsby, bass by Craig Walsh, piano by Paul Walker and guitar by Rhys Jiang.
