JW Chilli Salt (Quick Food Review) – Blackburn Market

Introduction

A stall on Blackburn Market is becoming a popular destination to pick up lunch. JW Chilli Salt has been becoming more and more popular over the last 18 months and so we went to see what the fuss was all about.

Based near the bottom of the escalators, the stall offers a great range of dishes, but their Salt n Pepper Chicken and their crispy tofu appear to be the big sellers. We chose a good old Chinese curry sauce with our Crispy Chicken and rice and Tofu with noodles.

There was a bit of a wait for the food after ordering, but it is great to see it all being prepared freshly right in front of you.

It was great to be offered fried onions or crispy onions as a topping and the spring roll on the side was a nice extra treat.

If you are looking for good portion sizes, you will not be disappointed. We had asked for extra curry sauce and it was certainly plentiful. We couldn’t really fault the food at all. The chicken was good quality breast in a crunchy coating and it was a very generous portion of Tofu. The rice and noodles were both tasty and well seasoned. What’s not to love?

For £13.80 for three meals, it was great value too.

Definitely a recommended visit when you are in the town centre. It’s a full 5 out of 5 for us! We’ll be back!

Open Monday to Saturday in Blackburn Market.
