More than 100 street lighting columns have been replaced on Yew Tree Drive and Ramsgreave Drive in Blackburn as part of a major upgrade to the area’s lighting network.

Blackburn with Darwen Council says the work also included new signs, illuminated sign heads and the renewal of more than 2km of cabling.
The council said the upgrade is intended to improve safety and enhance a key part of local infrastructure for residents and road users.
It also thanked people for their patience while the work was carried out.
The project appears as part of the council’s Part of Your Story campaign, which highlights how it supports residents throughout their lives.
