The visit, held ahead of the Mayor’s Ball that evening, was an opportunity to recognise the hard work of the team and the positive impact they continue to have on the lives of people across Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, Burnley and Pendle.
During the visit, the Mayor spent time with staff and service users, expressing his admiration for their dedication to high-quality, person-centred care.
“I’m honoured to meet everyone here today,” said Councillor Taylor. “The team at Blakewater Homecare is doing some truly terrific work in the community.”
The event created a rare opportunity to bring together staff who typically work independently across the area. It was a valuable moment of connection, where service users and care workers could share their experiences, build community, and celebrate their shared achievements.
Registered Care Manager, Denny Dodds, said:
“It was such a pleasure to welcome the Mayor. The afternoon helped staff to feel valued and recognised for their dedication. It was a truly memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.”
Blakewater Homecare earned high praise in its recent CQC inspection, with strong scores for kindness, dignity, responsiveness, and leadership. The service is especially noted for its compassionate approach and innovative communication practices that support and empower both staff and service users.
As the service continues to grow, its focus remains on delivering outstanding care and supporting the wellbeing of its dedicated team.
