New Louie toilet training toolkit rolled out to families across Blackburn with Darwen

A new toilet training toolkit called Louie Says… is being rolled out across Blackburn with Darwen to help families with the move out of nappies.

Public Health Development Manager Clare, who led on the three-step approach, said: “Parents and little children love Louie!”

The toolkit has been developed with specialists from the NHS East Lancashire Bladder and Bowel service, along with early years and education professionals in BwD.

It is designed to give parents, carers and early years staff advice on helping young children learn to use the loo, and is part of efforts to reduce the number of children starting school in nappies.

Families can get copies of the Louie Says… toolkit from their health visitor or local Family Hub.
