Reel Cinema Blackburn to open its doors for the first time on May 17th

Reel Cinema is excited to announce that they will be opening their latest cinema in Blackburn on 17th May. Based in the town centre, the £6.5m development will be opening to coincide with the lifting of Covid restrictions for the cinema industry and with ticket prices starting from as little as £2.50, they can’t wait to welcome people through the doors.

The cinema’s opening week audience offering will include showings of Best Picture Oscar winner Nomadland, action hit Godzilla Vs Kong, and the suspenseful Spiral: From The Book Of Saw. Family favourites will also be returning to the big screen with Peter Rabbit 2:The Runaway, Maya The Bee: The Golden Orb, and Tom & Jerry. Joining them later in May will be Disney’s eagerly awaited Cruella.

Cinema-goers will be able to enjoy cutting edge Dolby 7.1 surround sound paired with Barco 2K projectors for the perfect cinematic experience. Reel Cinema Blackburn boasts 5 Premiere Lounge screens featuring large leather seats, as well as 2 Reel Lounges equipped with plush sofas and extra legroom for the ultimate film experience.

The Reel Lounge experience offers two tiered luxury options. The first tier grants access to the luxury screen as well as a welcome drink and table service for £5.50. The second tier, a £10 ticket (£17 for two), will grant guests full access to the Reel Lounge menu which includes popcorn, nachos and ice cream following their welcome drink. To visit the cinema’s Premiere Lounge screens visitors will only have to pay £2.50 before 1pm & £3.50 after 1pm. The new cinema space has a licensed bar serving hot and cold drinks, all your favourite snacks like hotdogs, nachos and popcorn, as well as Sweet Barrels for your sweetie treats and Cream & Cones for your ice cream and waffle needs. A VR gaming area and other entertainment are on offer too.

It’s great news that finally the Reel cinema can open after a number of delays caused by the pandemic. The Reel Cinema team are aware it has been a challenging year for everyone and are excited to welcome the people of Blackburn back to the escape of the cinema while remaining dedicated to the safety of all of their guests and staff. Reel Cinemas will continue to ensure they adhere to all COVID-19 government guidelines across all of their sites.
