Hampton by Hilton Blackburn Empowers Sustainable Hospitality with Solar Panel Integration

Hampton by Hilton Blackburn proudly announces a monumental leap towards sustainability through the installation of cutting-edge solar panels. In alignment with their journey towards sustainable hospitality, the 152-bedroom hotel has embraced an impressive system featuring 124 Risen Energy 410W state-of-the-art solar panels. This powerful 50.84kWp system, installed by Perfect Sense Energy, complete with two 20kW inverters, graces the hotel’s rooftop. The installation symbolises a commitment to reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and contributes significantly to local environmental goals.

Already providing a significant portion of the hotel’s total energy requirements, the solar system foresees substantial electricity savings, resulting in a greener stay for every guest. Over the next 25 years, the hotel aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 246 tonnes, equivalent to driving from Blackburn to the site of the first Hampton by Hilton in Memphis, Tennessee (4,212 miles) 150 times. The hotel will use 100% of the energy created by the system and won’t be selling excess energy back to the grid, thereby reducing its reliance on the National Grid and minimising its environmental impact.

Complementing this solar initiative, the hotel features three Electric Vehicle charging points as part of its broader sustainability initiatives, offering eco-conscious options for guests.

Adam Barrow, General Manager, is enthusiastic about the installation, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the integration of solar power at Hampton by Hilton Blackburn. This marks a significant step in our journey towards sustainable hospitality, reinforcing our commitment to environmental responsibility.”
