Closed church opens its doors for one day only
As part of Heritage Open Days this week, there is a great opportunity to visit Holy Trinity Church at Mount Pleasant, Larkhill, Blackburn.
This rarely open historic church opens its doors this Saturday. Inside its special glory is the flat timber ceiling with a series of 80 painted heraldic panels, mostly commemorating families who contributed to the construction of the church. Is your family commemorated on the ceiling?
The church is open to the public between 10.30am and 3.30pm this Saturday 15 September 2013. The event is free.
You can discover more about all the events taking place this week by visiting http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/ or by visiting the special information stand in Blackburn Market and picking up a leaflet. There is also a children’s history trail you can collect.
Blackburn is hosting 14 events this year in what is hoped to become even bigger in the years to come.
