The centre of Blackburn was alive today with new attractions, businesses and events.
In the market, Philippa James began her new cookery demonstrations using fresh produce from the markets. She was joined by Antony Shirley from the Seafood Pub Company and Darina Merheim-Eyre (The Paprika Lady). The new demo kitchen has been built in a new activity area near to Butler’s Cafe. Recipe cards are available for market customers to take-away. The demonstrations will be coming to Darwen Market soon too!
Also in the market were the popular Bread and Butter Theatre Company with their Easter themed characters. Also available were Children’s Easter Crafts.
The Salvation Army band were also out on Church Street with their traditional Easter music before their Easter Walk back to the Citadel.
A new Craft Emporium opened in Blackburn today. The Love Craft Emporium is on Darwen Street above Mercers Toy Shop. Also The Coconut Rose Cafe opened its doors. Next to the Craft Emporium it has take over the area formally run by the popular Sprout Vegetarian Cafe. Coconut Rose serve vegetarian and vegan foods.
In front of the Town Hall a small Easter Fun Fair has also set up to entertain the children.
