In the steps of greatness! Steve Harris comes to Darwen Comedy Club

Within three months of hitting the comedy circuit, Steve Harris had won the coveted “North West Comedian of the Year” following in the footsteps of previous winners Peter Kay, John Bishop and Jason Manford.

His success led him to support tours with Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Lee Evans. It’s reported that Steve is one of Kay’s favourite comedians. That’s a recommendation that’s hard to ignore.

Steve has played to delighted audiences all over the globe, including venues as far flung as Hong Kong, Australia, and Dubai.

A master of the obvious, there are very few comedians that can guarantee a night leaving you breathless with laughter, but Steve is as close as you can get.

Joining Steve this month are Meryl O’Rourke and Pierre Hollins. Meryl is bitterly direct with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, a potty-mouthed potty-trainer. She has delighted comedy audiences, ladies’ nights and even hosted pop concerts (the last one to 12,000 people!).

Pierre Hollins has been a comedy circuit favourite for many years and has headlined clubs throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In the past her was even a comedy acrobat and unicyclist!

MC for the night is Jonathan Mayor. He is one of the finest comperes in the country, capable of settling even the rowdiest crowds with savage wit and a high-octane stage presence. When Jonathan arrives, it’s showtime, engaging the audience both on and off-stage. He is one of the few acts who will not only perform when the stage lights are on, but also wander among the crowd, chatting and charming – truly “hosting” the night.

Another incredible Comedy night at Darwen Library Theatre that you don’t want to miss.
