The Blackburn with Darwen 50+ Partnership and Blackburn with Darwen Dementia Action Alliance are hosting two free activities in national Dementia Action Week 2018 to raise awareness of dementia and the support available for people living with the condition.
Monday 21st May 1.30pm to 3.00pm free 1950’s tea party for those living with dementia and their carers at Age UK Blackburn with Darwen’s Hopwood Court daycare centre. Tickets are available from Care Network Hub opposite Blackburn Library or from Age UK’s King Street office.
Thursday 24th May 2pm in the Hornby lecture theatre, Blackburn library, a short theatre performance called ‘over the Garden Fence’ which follows the story of Annabelle and her grandmother Dolly. The play is suitable for both professionals, and members of the public and aims to raise awareness of dementia. Booking is essential as places are limited
