This June at Darwen Library Theatre, mod icon Steve Ellis joins forces with Blues Hall of Fame legend, Norman Beaker for one of the finest collaborations of blues and soul.
Steve Ellis began his career as a teenager with The Love Affair, and their hit classic Everlasting Love, and quickly became an icon of the Mod and Northern Soul genre.
His voice has remained a rare and powerful force which has allowed him to maintain his status as a mod figurehead and one of the few remaining singers representing the first wave of mod culture.
He has recently teamed up with Blues Hall of Fame British Legend Norman Beaker, both in recording and live performances.
Together with Norman Beaker’s band, they will present a soul and blues show with elements of R&B, rock and some of the classic Love Affair tracks.
Manchester musician Norman Beaker is only the eighth 21st-century British artist to be officially recognised and inducted into the American Blues Hall of Fame®, joining ranks with his contemporaries John Mayall, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.
