Support to help people deal with soaring energy bills this winter has been outlined by the chancellor, Rishi Sunak. All UK households will get a grant which will reduce energy bills by £400 from October.

This grant is not means-tested so people will receive it with the lowest incomes and multi-millionaires…and everyone in-between.

Rishi Sunak has suggested that people who do not need the grant consider donating it to charity.

At Blackburn Life, we want to create one central location where you can donate. The money raised will go directly to local charities helping people in the borough of Blackburn & Darwen and, particularly, those assisting people with day-to-day living costs and mental health support.

To donate now, visit the GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/1a3830dc

Blackburn Life has chosen Blackburn Food Bank as its nominated charity, but you can also suggest local charities that will benefit.

You don’t need to donate £400. You can donate as much or as little as you can afford. £10 can make a difference. Donate what you can afford.
