The new cafe at Blackburn Cathedral has revealed its new name, Checks and Greys.
The name is taken from the Blackburn Checks & Greys – traditional weaving patterns for which the town was once world-famous. This often – forgotten piece of Blackburn’s history has been revived by the business, bringing the name back to the local community as a source of pride and achievement.
Checks & Greys is a place for the people of Blackburn to enjoy as their own – to meet, eat, drink & relax in comfortable surroundings.
They will be offering many of the old-favourites, but also a wide range of new dishes including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
The new team are also offering event catering both at the Cathedral and beyond and will soon be offering live online reservations and a click and collect service for a speedy lunchtime meal.
The cafe is open from Friday 7th February 2020.
