The Mall Blackburn is on the hunt for an exciting business to take a free retail unit for six months.
Open to businesses in Blackburn with Darwen, the competition will see the winner benefit from free rent as well as a whole host of business mentoring sessions including advice on buildings Insurance, retail practices, legal requirements, marketing, PR and service charges.
The competition has been launched to give applicants the opportunity to trade in a busy shopping centre as the country starts to recover from the pandemic.
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “While the last 18 months have been incredibly difficult for the retail sector, there are real green shoots of recovery starting to show.
“Businesses worked extremely hard to adapt their business models during the lockdowns and we want to offer someone the chance to take their plans to the next level here in The Mall.
“Whether you have been running your business for a while, or changed your career direction to start a new retail venture during the pandemic, you could really benefit from getting your products in front of our shoppers.
“We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity and are really looking forward to seeing all the applications.”
Application forms must be returned with any supporting material and videos to Laura.diffey@themall.co.uk by midnight on Tuesday 31st August 2021.
Shortlisted businesses will be asked to present their ideas and plans to a judging panel at The Mall Blackburn.
Subject to eligibility business may also receive free business rates for the six-month period from the date of occupancy.
