The Day Is Coming…Come, Join Us, Let’s Celebrate Together

The Older Peoples Forum (Blackburn with Darwen) is hosting a Civic Ceremony on Monday 1st October (12:30 pm outside Darwen Town Hall) to mark the annual United Nations Day of Older Persons. During the morning there will be activity raising awareness on Older Peoples Issues (10:30am TO 12:30pm in Darwen Market), and followed by refreshments at the Darwen Library Theatre (1pm onwards).

“Join us in celebrating the United Nations International Day of Older Persons. We are organising a Civic event to mark this annual event to raise public awareness to help us to support our older people’. The Older People’s Forum and other partner agencies will be on hand during the morning in Darwen Market.

“We are keen to meet you and to share a conversation about the things that matter to you and your loved ones. There is an open invite for you to join us for cake and a drink afterwards. Help us to ensure that the voice and views of older people is heard and being listened to!”

This event is being held in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Age UK Blackburn with Darwen.
