Did You Know?

Darwen Library Theatre began life as the lecture hall for Darwen Library, opened in 1908. In the 1970s it was converted into a theatre space, and today it remains one of Lancashire’s most intimate live performance venues, with around 200 seats.

Darwen Library Theatre offers a diverse programme of theatre, music, comedy, literature, film and community arts in a welcoming ~200-seat space. Known for its friendly atmosphere and creative programming, the theatre supports local talent and is home to groups such as Darwen Youth Theatre, Darwen Library Larks and Beggars Belief.

Getting Here

Darwen Library Theatre sits at the junction of School Street and Knott Street in Darwen town centre. It’s a 5‑minute walk from both the train and bus stations. By car, follow the A666 or exit the M65 at J4.

Parking

Town centre parking is mostly free. Use Darwen Market rooftop and covered car parks, or long-stay on Knott Street. For sat nav, BB3 1BH directs to central parking.
