(3 April 2019) was successfully brought under control by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Nobody was injured during the fire.

The building, which is over 200 years old, is owned by Blackburn Council and used as the Arts Centre, The Bureau, has been completely gutted by the ferocity of the flames.

Blackburn Life would like to express their sadness at the loss of this asset to our town. We have enjoyed working with the team at The Bureau over the years with amongst other things, the annual Festival of Light. Our thoughts are with you all today.

Let’s hope you can find a new location to continue your work for the town.
