Devastating Fire at Bureau Arts Centre in Blackburn

A devastating fire that ripped through the former St John’s Church in Blackburn Lancashire early this morning (3 April 2019) was successfully brought under control by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Nobody was injured during the fire.

The building, which is over 200 years old, is owned by Blackburn Council and used as the Arts Centre, The Bureau, has been completely gutted by the ferocity of the flames.

Blackburn Life would like to express their sadness at the loss of this asset to our town. We have enjoyed working with the team at The Bureau over the years with amongst other things, the annual Festival of Light. Our thoughts are with you all today.

Let’s hope you can find a new location to continue your work for the town.

Blackburn Life has been running as a voluntary venture to support the borough and its community. We are always happy to discuss advertising and promotional packages for businesses to help cover our costs of running Blackburn Life.

Blackburn Life will never charge you fees, levies or memberships to add your events, news, jobs and business listings.
