No truth in acid attack rumours in Blackburn Town Centre

Blackburn Police have quashed rumours that a man had been subject to an acid attack in Blackburn Town Centre.

The Police have said:

We are aware of rumours circulating on social media about a suspected acid attack in Blackburn today and we want to let you know what has actually happened.

We were called around midday to the report that a man had been seen with burns in the town centre on King William Street.

Emergency Services attended and the man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The incident is believed to be an accidental injury and no third party was involved.
