Two town centre locations close as Shh Bar and Coffee Shop call it a day

The Shh Bar, which announced last month it was not to relocate, but close its doors has now thanked customers as it closed for the final time.

Posting a message to customers on Monday, they said:

It’s with a heavy and very sad heart that we feel we have had to close the door for the last time, thank you to each and everyone of you for supporting and looking after us for the last 5 years.

The bar had been due to move into the flagship building in the Blakey Moor development project, the former Ribblesdale Hotel. Even though signage went up on the building, the owners of the bar revealed the project would not be going ahead. At the same time, they revealed they would be also closing the original bar on Northgate.

In a double blow for the town centre, recent addition, The Winter Lotus Brew House, which had only opened in the former Starbucks unit in Cathedral Square in June this year, appears to have also closed its doors.

Blackburn Life has been running as a voluntary venture to support the borough and its community. We are always happy to discuss advertising and promotional packages for businesses to help cover our costs of running Blackburn Life.

Blackburn Life will never charge you fees, levies or memberships to add your events, news, jobs and business listings.
